Goombungee Charity Golf Day

After a huge amount of work put in by the club, the golf day went off without a hitch raising in excess of $7,000 for the Project. With the support of the community and the club this event will be hosted again in 2017.
Endeavour Foundation Sensory Gardens
Past President Steve Kite was approached by Justine, an Endeavour Foundation Facility Coordinator, regarding the type of plants she could use at the Stenner Street facility. Steve thought this a wonderful opportunity to get Rotary Club of Toowoomba North involved, and with Past President Hedley they coordinated a Sensory Garden Project.
Members attended three working bees during the hottest days digging, planting, painting outdoor furniture, painting 100m of fence, making garden edges with rocks and pavers, top dressing and watering.
The garden was officially opened on Wednesday 10th December 2014, and this garden has encouraged the people who attend this facility to be outdoors enjoying their new back yard and exercising.
Oakey Hospital Gardens
After the devastation of the January 2011 floods the gardens at the Oakey Hospital were destroyed leaving nothing there for the patients.
The members of the Rotary Club Toowoomba North, led by Past President Steve Kite, took it upon themselves to restore the gardens and give the patients a more beautiful garden to enjoy.
This saw many local organisations help including Boeing which supplied a lot of man hours to assist our Club complete this project.
The gardens were officially opened on Saturday 28th September 2013.
More recently a covered Bar-B-Q area was created for the elderly patients and their families to enjoy. This was completed June 2015.
In 2016 these gardens won first prize for a community garden in the Carnival of Flowers.
